sexual desire or chronic diseases, a big part of healthy aging
is maintaining a healthy lifestyle”.1

Key

What may be the key to healthy aging?

In Healthy Aging: Basics – Health Aging: Beyond 50 the (United States) Mayo Clinic elaborate on:

“Staying healthy and energetic is important at any age. After 50, though, you may think more about how to promote good health as you get older. Whether you’re concerned about weight gain, sexual desire or chronic diseases, a big part of healthy aging is maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Eating reasonable amounts of a variety of nutritious foods and getting physical activity every day can go a long way toward staying healthy as you age”.2

Fountain of Youth

Is menopause hormone therapy (MHT) the “fountain of youth”?

On page three of Menopause and Menopause Hormone Therapy: 1. Who Is MHT For? Who Might Not Need MHT?, the IMS’s Leaflet for Women for World Menopause Day 2024 the IMS note:

“Women who go through menopause at the natural age (after 45) and have no bothersome symptoms usually don’t need MHT. Some people believe MHT is a “fountain of youth”, but there’s little scientific evidence for that. It’s important to remember MHT is not recommended solely to prevent aging, memory loss, or dementia”.3
